I have definitely felt it.
Here, let me give you a bit of insight into my head for the past few days: Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars Star Wars
I can’t go a minute without thinking about The Force Awakens. I’ll be seeing the movie at 7:05 pm on Thursday night, at the first 2D showing at Disney Springs. Then I’m heading to an after-party at Hollywood Studios. I’m super excited to both a) see the film, and b) celebrate Star Wars with a bunch of other crazy fans. I’ve already seen the new Star Tours module (where we took a visit to the planet Jakku!), and visited the Launch Bay for the first time yesterday. It was amazing. I also got a BB-8 sippy cup, because of course I did.
I’m allowing myself this temporary lapse in Star Wars sanity because I was a good girl and finished all my homework on time. So to speak. I finished a first draft of THE MAGE QUEEN during National Novel Writing Month. As it’s a first draft it needs a lot of work, but I’m really happy with the story. And the characters–I’ve never had characters come to life like these.
I also finished the final draft of AURORA, as well as my synopsis and query letter. After another read-through for typos, I’ll start digging the query trenches sometime in January.
All this means I get to revel in Star Wars for the rest of the month. There will be flailing. There will be blog posts. There will be podcasts. There will be fanfic.
Oh yes, there will be fic.
This is the best time ever to be a Star Wars fan. And I guarantee I’ll start crying as soon as “THE FORCE AWAKENS” crawls past my eyes.
Until then…may the Force be with you.
